Presentation
Touching, comical, funny, personal, professional, romantic… Denis Podalydès’s memories are as varied as they are unexpected. Together, they form his fragmented self-portrait. From childhood to adulthood, from his grandmother’s bookshop to the office of a Minister of Culture, from holidays in Brittany to the family apartment in Versailles, from Jacques Higelin to Michel Leiris, from Corneille to Maurice Pialat… Denis Podalydès, by using colourful or soft words, tells us the most important moments of his life as a man and as an artist.
His love of words, of the French language, of writers, of literature and theatre has guided and nourished him since his early childhood. In this book, he reveals his appetence for the written word as well as his undeniable talents as a storyteller – for the great enjoyment of the reader.
Actor, director, scriptwriter and member of the Comédie-Française, Denis Podalydès is the author of several books, especially Voix-off (Femina award 2008) and Fleeing from Penelope.
