Presentation
“Poems are flowers, we sometimes say. Don't we talk about florilegia? This word makes smile. There is more than the art of bouquets. Each poem is a blossoming of meanings. Poetry makes pain, love, torment, beauty... bloom in the language, it makes them appear, gives them a voice, reveals them... And more the poem remains close to the sensation, the impression, and the blooming that gave it birth, more it affirm its own necessity. To write a poem, perhaps it is finally only that, to give to assist at the moment of the birth, at the very blossoming of the sense, syllable after syllable. Isn't it the opposite of the speech that delivers the meaning ready-made? A poem is a living organism. It grows on paper. It animates language and revives curiosity. It brings words out of their torpor, it wakes them up, it celebrates them. That is it, flower street.”
