L'été contraire

Une infirmière, un agent d’entretien, deux retraités, une simplette… Cinq petits héros du quotidien qui refusent de céder à la morosité alors que l’été arrive, qu’il fait de plus en plus chaud, que la canicule menace. Le pays se délite mais eux se découvrent, s’aiment et se confrontent à la manière batailleuse des timides. Loin de s’apitoyer sur leur sort, ils nous guident vers des chemins de traverse où le burlesque côtoie le drame et, peut-être, une nouvelle forme d’utopie.

To subsist, this incredible gang of five rob supermarkets with fake weapons. As it is summer and the heat is scorching, they also stock up with bottles of water and misters that they freely distribute in all the retirement homes they find on their way. Overwhelmed by the heatwave, the authorities let these modern Robin Hood do as they please…

On a breathless rhythm, this epic and burlesque tale multiplies twists and surprises, with zany and endearing characters. Yves Bichet gets us into a tender and intergenerational trip, which also gives prominence to the outraged of all kinds.

Yves Bichet wrote many poetry collections and novels, among them La part animale, Les terres froides, Resplandy and L’homme qui marche.
