Kietu ?

Presentation
Laurie was raised in the Ardèche region by tender, generous parents. By their side, she developed an unconditional love for the region, a taste for flowers, nature and, above all, stone – basalt and purplish schist... It was only natural that she should become a geological engineer, specializing in mining.
A rare woman in a male-dominated field, Laurie travels the world: from Lorraine, where she learns her trade, to Australia, where she specializes in drilling for the rare mineral tantalum. There, she met Saül Wangka, a site manager with whom she forged a strong friendship. With him, she discovers the bush he comes from, its Aborigines, and an unknown system of values. Thanks to Saul, she also understands that mining "hurts" the land of this indigenous people, and that the big mining companies have a colonial attitude. Her convictions waver... Years later, when she returns to France, sensitized to aboriginal beliefs, she wonders whether the nightmares that have haunted her since childhood might have something to do with the mystery of her origins...
François Dominique is the author of several novels and stories, collections of poems and essays. He is also a translator from German language (Meckel, Häfner, Rilke).
